Wayne Langston moved after the LMUD Ratepayers Initiative was filed with the County Clerk, Theresa Nagel (Langston's mother-in-law). Fred Nagel transferred property he owned in Janesville to Wayne Langston.
Langston has been a Plumas Sierra Rural Electric Cooperative customer until his recent move into LMUD's service area. Wayne Langston, former LMUD President, has never been on a LMUD ballot since his appointment. He has never received a single vote.
The current President of LMUD, Fred Nagel, is still a customer of Plumas Sierra Rural Electric Cooperative. LMUD has not had a President in four years that has been a LMUD customer.

"In the same edition of the paper, you printed an article about the district attorney's decision not to prosecute a DUI case against a prominent local citizen. In that article, Burns states that he has an obligation "not to waste the taxpayers' money on cases with little chance of conviction". This is a stark contrast to Burns' statement in the Marshall article; "we can prosecute without blood results; we've done it before." Reading between the lines, one might question the political dimensions of these statements.

ARRESTED FOR D.U.I.
As reported by Mike Smith at KSUE radio, 1/6/04 at 7:40 am:
Wayne Langston, (the non-ratepayer) President of LMUD was arrested at 9:30 on Christmas Eve after leaving the scene of a hit and run accident.
Langston was arrested by the CHP for a DUI and spent six hours in jail. Mistake..Not a chance !!!!!!

The District Attorney, Robert Burns does not intend to prosecute Wayne Langston for his DUI arrest....special privileges for Langston.
The DA has not sent Langston's DUI to the courts...... special privileges for Langston.

Langston rolled his truck and left the scene of the accident and was arrested at his home. Frank Cady was at Langston's home and told the CHP that he was representing Langston.
Will LMUD funds be used? KWH will watch this closely.

Who protects the public from drunk drivers ????? NOT the District Attorney.
KWH believes that the District Attorney will most likely dismiss the case and protect Langston. If Wayne Langston is convicted (highly unlikely in this County) he would have to resign from the LMUD Board.

RECALLED LMUD
DIRECTOR DARREL WOOD ARRAIGNED IN THREE WEEKS.
The LCT put recalled LMUD Director Darrel Woods arrest all over the front page with photos of the accident. The DA, Bob Burns, said "We'll treat this just like we do any other DUI case", The DA charged Darrell Wood three weeks after his arrest. It has been four weeks since Langston was arrested and still no action by the District Attorney, Bob Burns. Link
The BIG difference with Wayne Langston.... is that this isn't the local police, this isn't the Sheriff's Department where "things" just seem to disappear. The California Highway Patrol is a California State law enforcement agency.
