RETURN TO LMUD

LMUD WEBSITE

The LMUD website basically remains dysfunctional.

LMUD hired Ed Delaney to update and fix the LMUD website. He was paid $2350 on November 8, 2004. This was for services in October/2004. This website remains dysfunctional. The ratepayers continue to pay for "phantom" services.

All that Mr. Delaney has done is add a few meeting minutes and make the majority of minutes inaccessible. That was worth $2350.

This website was intended to be a functioning website for the public. It had not been updated since April of 2002 .

Keri Richards stated at the February 18, 2003 LMUD meeting  link that the LMUD website would be "fully operational by the end of February, allowing for the timely posting of agendas, minutes, etc."  The website was in the process of being tied into the new Avenir software package that Bill Stewart, LMUD Controller, purchased.

The Avenir software purchased by LMUD, at the recommendation of Bill Stewart, has since been discarded. The ratepayers paid over $100,000 for this software that was used less than a year.

Meanwhile, the LMUD website is useless and does not update meeting agendas and minutes. Most of the minutes and agendas that are posted are not accessible.

At the August 5, 2004 LMUD meeting link the LMUD Board approved a new contract with "Talahi Media Arts" The owners, Ed and Debora Delaney of Prather, California were given a contract to update and maintain the LMUD website. The contract paid the Delaney's $50 per hour for "revamping" the 47 page website. It was estimated that it would take 60-70 hours to accomplish this task and they were also contracted to maintain the website on an ongoing basis.

NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO THIS WEBSITE IN OVER TWO YEARS

The public has to submit a Public Records Request, to LMUD, for meeting agendas and minutes at a charge of $. 25 per page.

This also requires Frank Cady to charge a minimum of $300 to process this request.

Jaimie Richey is assigned this work.
